It is a truth universally acknowledged that aspects of the Regency-period’s timeless elegance still find their way into the fashion and culture of 2021.

From adaptation after adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Emma, to Shonda Rhime’s production of Bridgerton, society has made it clear that the love for the fancy, floaty dream of the Regency world is going nowhere fast. And as this year’s “must have” inspo, the Regency-era fashion trends have continued to rise. (Are we Daphne Bridgerton yet?)

At Olivia Annabelle, our Spring Summer collection aims to take elements from the Regency style but make them wearable for today with puffy sleeves, big collars, and hand-drawn prints. For instance, our Lizzie Quilted Reversible Waistcoat draws inspiration from the popular Spencer Jacket and our Knightley Coat from a traditional Regency coat but with a trench coat style.

Take a moment to look through our hand drawn prints – each reflects a rose-tinted vision of the English countryside, imbued with a celebration of the natural world. Explore the notorious Vauxhall garden, take a stroll through the Maze garden, or admire the County Seats of our favourite eligible bachelor Mr Knightly.

And, of course, no Regency look is complete without a bonnet! We paired ours with this fabulous straw bucket from Boi Feathered. Lady Whistledown would approve…
